Andrew Bucksbarg:

Andrew Bucksbarg is a techno-media artist, experimental interaction designer, audio-visual performer and a professor in the Department of Telecommunications at Indiana University. Bucksbarg’s work and interests reverberate in the space of creative new media practices,
technology and theory. As an experimental interaction artist, Bucksbarg concerns himself with technologies and social systems that support tactics of ambiguous, autonomous social creativity and
exchange. Bucksbarg’s work appears physically and digitally around the globe, including the Rhizome.org Artbase; Stunned.org; Soundtoys.net; Trampoline Media Festival, Nottingham, UK; dLux Media Arts Festival, Sydney, Australia; and The International Media Festival: Art in the
Age of New Technologies, Armenian Center for Contemporary Experimental Art, Armenia. He co-produces a monthly, live A/V program, Videacy (Videacy.net) in Bloomington, Indiana and recently co-curated Mediatopia.2 fresh!, a net.art exhibition (Mediatopia.net) and is the director of Perform.Media (PerformTheMedia.net), a media arts festival and symposium at Indiana University.

Andy Deck:

Andy Deck is an American artist specializing in Internet art. His work
addresses the politics and aesthetics of collaboration, interactivity, software, and
independent media. Using the site ARTCONTEXT.NET, Deck combines code, text, and images to demonstrate new patterns of participation and control that distinguish online presence and representation from previous artistic practices. His aesthetic program delves into the myth of technological progress, issues surrounding collective authorship, and the cultural context of political passivity. Visitors to Artcontext encounter online production processes that suggest both the potential and limits of systematized creativity. In addition to the anonymous collaboration fostered by his websites, Deck has worked with arts collectives such as Turbulence, Personal Cinema, and Furtherfield, which mounted a retrospective of his work in 2004. In 1999 Deck co-founded the environmental art organization Transnational Temps, which has produced a series of terranodes (TERRANODE.ORG) -- earth art projects for the new century. In 2006 Deck opened a commission named Screening Circle on the websites of the Whitney Museum and the Tate Modern. He participated in the Node.L cultural events series and exhibited his work in London at the HTTP Gallery. Other 2006 exhibitions include Stockholm, Sweden; Como, Italy; Castilla-La
Mancha, Spain; Bodrum, Turkey; and New York City, U.S.A. The artist currently lives and works in New York.
